So wow, it´s been a pretty crazy week, and I don´t have a lot of time, but i´ll do it the best i can to do it justice.
So tuesday last week was a pretty good day. We did intercambios, and Elder Fernandez (from peru), came here to serve in Mayor Drummond for a day. We talked to a lot of people, set up several great appointments but had trouble getting into houses to teach.
Thursday was Elder Gomez´s birthday, we bought him a cake the night before and sang feliz cumpleanos to him first thing in the morning!!! Elder Lafleur and I started out with a fairly rough day of proselyting. We went to 4 of the lessons that we set up on tuesday and none of them went through. We sat down on a bench in the late siesta to try and figure out what to do. We were pretty beat but trying hard to keep a good attitude. Then this girl carrying a pan passed by smiling and looking at us (and now as i´m writing, i´m realizing that this could look like it´s going a different direction than it really is so keep reading), and she just seemed a little too happy to see us, but we didn´t think too much of it, then a minute later just came back and gave us a piece of cake. A teenage argentine girl with a couple tatoos and the side of her head shaved short and a cigarrete in hand gave a piece of cake to two gringos in white shirts and ties sitting on a bench. Don´t judge a book by its cover. So we asked her what was up, and she was baptized when she was young and hadn´t been to the church in like 10 years, but told us she remembers some of the songs, she couldn´t stop smiling, and we asked her what songs, and she started singing "pueblo de zion", 202 in your spanish himnal, but it´s the one that talks about not smoking or doing tabacco. It was way cool! So we´ve got a lesson to meet with her and her inactive grandpa this week. What a testimony to the fact that God is really watching out for us, wants us to be happy, and wants us to find people to teach.
Then Friday was Elder Lafleur´s birthday, so we got up and sang and ate cake once again. no complaints from me. Then at 12:30, we went to the wedding of Claudio and his wife Cinthia. Claudio is one of the Zone Leader´s investigators. He is one of the coolest most ready for the gospel investigators i´ve met. It was a sweet wedding in the city building. We threw lots of rice and the zone leaders had boughten silly string which freaked out C&C´s 2 year old daughter maria paz haha. Then after that we went to lunch with our ward mission leader, Hermano Sisterna. His family is awesome. I told them that it was going to be Elder Lafleurs birthday so they could sing or something, but they went all out and made asado!!!! yum yum yum!!! We played monkey in the middle with the kids which was super fun!!! I love that family.
Saturday we had a sweet experience working with less actives to have nonmember lessons. Awesome lesson.
Sunday night we had an awesome lesson with Timoteo and he now has a fecha for the 15th of Feb.
Claudios baptism was sweeeeet!!!!
I got to go in just a minute, but crazy news...
Our ward doesnt exist anymore, part of it is in the zone leaders ward and the other is in another ward called Carodilla, and we are going to be in the other ward!!!! We really don´t know much besides that yet, but Elder Lafleur and I are a little sad, but super excited at the same time, we will be working a lot in an area that hasn´t seen the missionaries very much so it will be quite the adventure!!! We have the faith that miracles will happen.
I love this work, I love my family, I love the Lord,
Love,
Elder Fullmer
